Dr. Laure Guillou received her doctoral degree from the University of Paris 6, France. She is a Senior Scientist (DR2) at the CNRS in France. Her main scientific interests are: Biological controls of harmful algal blooms, infection of microalgae by microeukaryotic parasites and the comparative genomic and genes involved in infection processes. Among her many projects she is the coordinator of the ANR HAPAR Project and the ANR PARALEX Project. She received the International award Phytoplanktonic diversity and Ecology (Daniel Jouvance) in 1999 and the Award of excellence from the CNRS (2010-2014).
She is an invited speaker to the ECODIM X Symposium. The title of her lecture is "Relevance of marine parasites for ecology and evolution."
