I’m an aquatic scientist working at Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Napoli, Italy. My main interests are evolutionary ecology, life history theory, and food webs. My main focus is on microbes and plankton, but I am currently expanding my interests to metazoans and benthic systems. My scientific production is multidisciplinary, dealing with organismal biology, demography, community assembly and systems ecology and I coordinated publications falling into different methodological fields, such as microbiology, molecular biology, and network science, in both marine and freshwater systems. As a societally engaged researcher, I am profoundly interested in the interactions between nature and human societies, and between ecological and economic systems. Finally, along with my scientific activity, I’m also a science writer and performer.
